From the 17th February, Kings Langley, a town in Watford, will be changing its name to Kings Landing for one week, just in time for the DVD release of The Game of Thrones Season Three.
One of the shows producers thought of the idea on a train journey when the town Kings Langley was announced as one of the stops on his route. He then contacted Dacorum Borough Council to organise the name change. Kings Landing is the main city in the Game of Thrones TV show and the novels it is based on by George R. R. Martin. The publicity will hopefully mean that businesses and restaurants will get involved, possibly hosting special events and celebrations.
I am definitely going to have to check this out. I’m hoping King Joffrey will be walking around somewhere so I can punch him in the face.
