– Paul Bettany has been cast to play Vision in the upcoming Avengers movie; Age of Ultron. In the comics, he is an android built by Ultron, but he turned on his creator and joined The Avengers. The Vision has been a regular on the team ever since, eventually marrying Scarlet Witch. She will also be making an appearance in the movie, played by Elizabeth Olson. The film’s release date is 1st May 2015.

– Ben Mckenzie will be playing the lead role in Fox’s new TV series, Gotham, due to start later this year. The character that Mckenzie will be playing is none other than Jim Gordon. Gotham is set before Bruce Wayne becomes Batman, it is also set before Gordon becomes Commissioner Gordon. It’s going to be interesting to see who they cast next. Rumours suggest they are looking for a young Penguin and Riddler.

– A brand new event Pokemon is being released for Pokemon X and Y on the Nintendo DS. The Pokemon, Celebi, will be available between February and October 2014. Previous event Pokemon include Torchic, who was available between October 2013 and January 2014.

– A sequel for the 1996 movie Independence Day is due to be released on its 20th Anniversary, 4th July 2016. Unfortunately it looks like Will Smith will not be joining the cast when they start filming. Fox has announced that Smith does not wish to reprise his role of Captain Steve Hiller but luckily the movie will still go forward without him.

– Gary Oldman has been approached about starring in the new Star Wars movie. He confessed that he has been contacted stating ‘They Called’ but went on to say nothing official has been agreed. R2-D2 appears to be the only confirmed role so far, but both Michael Fassbender and Hugo Weaving have also been rumoured to be making appearances in the franchise.
