Xbox One Backwards Compatibility is here

Yesterday saw the launch of Xbox One’s new backwards compatibility scheme where hundreds of Xbox 360 games will be available to play on the next gen console. How exciting is this? I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time and I’m sure all you Xbox users out there have too.

The feature is available to everybody, free of charge, and introduces the ability to play online with friends who haven’t upgraded to an Xbox One yet. Games included can be both digital and disk based. If you have bought any digital titles on your Xbox 360, they will automatically appear in the ‘Ready to Install’ section on your Xbox one. If you have any Xbox 360 disks, just insert it into your Xbox and it will automatically get downloaded to your hard drive.

Some of the titles already available include Gears of War, Assassin’s Creed, Borderlands, Fable, Just cause, Fallout and Mass Effect, but hundreds more will be released in the next few months. You can find a full list of backward compatible titles here.
