– Benedict Cumberbatch will be voicing the role of Shere Khan in Andy Serkis’ adaption of Jungle Book. Serkis himself will be directing the movie, as well as playing Baloo the loveable bear. Christian Bale has also been cast, as Bagheera, and Cate Blanchett will play Kaa the snake. The movie, title Jungke Book: Origins, will be released on 21st October 2016.

– To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the classic movie Ghostbusters, National Ghostbusters day has been confirmed. The day will fall on the 28th August, later this month, and will be accompanied by the release of a remastered version of both of the movies in the franchise. Blu Rays will be available, as well as new merchandise and toys. It will also be re-released in cinemas for a short time.

– The movie Minority Report is being adapted for television. The show is currently in very early development stages, but the script has a writer – Max Borenstein, writer of the latest Godzilla movie. The TV series will be produced by 20th Century Fox, and Paramount, in conjunction with Steven Spielberg’s company; Amblin TV.

– The Harry Potter spinoff movie; Fantastic Beasts and where to Find a them, has a director. David Yates, who directed four of the eight Harry Potter movies is attached to this latest movie in the franchise. The film is set 70 years before Harry Potter was even born, and follows the life of Newt Scamander, author of a text book. Yates directed Order of the Phoenix, The Half Blood Prince, and parts 1 and 2 of Deathly Hallows.

– Matt Ward has been cast to play the role of Simon Lacroix, otherwise known as Komodo, in the latest season of Arrow. Komodo is a deadly mercenary, associated with the League of Assassins. He was created by DC writers Jeff Lemire, and Andrea Sorrentino.

– Adriane Palicki will be playing Bobbi Morse (Mockingbird) in season 2 of Agents of SHIELD. She will appear in the 5th episode of the new series, which will air on the 23rd September on ABC. It’s currently unknown as to whether she will reprise her role in later episodes.
