Tonight see’s the premiere of Supernatural and Arrow – two shows I’ve been looking forward to watching all year – but they’re not the only series to get excited about. October has new and returning TV shows a plenty, and here are just 10 I am looking forward to watching. What series’ are on your to watch list this month?
The Last Man on Earth | Season 4
Pamela finds her place within the group as they all set sail for Mexico, avoiding the apocalyptic nuclear fallout in the United States. Their course derails a bit when they realize that none of them knows how to actually navigate a yacht. 4th October. Fox.
The Gifted | Season 1
Marvel’s The Gifted tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. 2nd October. Fox.
Riverdale | Season 2
As the town breathed a collective sigh of relief that Jason’s killer had been found out, another terrible crime occurred, in a space that had been considered one of the town’s safest, most innocent places. If Jason Blossom’s murder revealed the slimy underbelly beneath Riverdale’s surface, as we enter Season 2, the shooting of Fred Andrews threatens to plunge the entire town into utter darkness. 11th October. The CW.
The Shannara Chronicles | Season 2
One year after the events of the last season of The Shannara Chronicles; The Four Lands are in chaos – the re-emergence of magic has the populace terrified, and an organization called The Crimson is hunting down magic users. 15th October. Spike.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend | Season 3
Rebecca Bunch is a successful, driven, and possibly crazy young woman who impulsively gives up everything – her partnership at a prestigious law firm and her upscale apartment in Manhattan – in a desperate attempt to find love and happiness in that exotic hotbed of romance and adventure: suburban West Covina. 15th October. The CW.
Mindhunter | Season 1
Set in 1979 — in the early days of criminal psychology and criminal profiling at the FBI — Mindhunter revolves around FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench, who interview imprisoned serial killers in order to understand how such criminals think and apply this knowledge to solving ongoing cases. 18th October. Netflix.
Star Wars Rebels | Season 4
Sabine leads Ezra, Kanan and an army of her fellow Mandalorians back to her homeworld to rescue her father from the clutches of the Empire. When Sabine discovers the Empire has resurrected a devastating weapon she created and plans to use it against her people, she must decide whether to destroy it or use it herself, while Ezra and the Ghost crew must accept a mission to spy on an Imperial outpost they would rather destroy. 21st October. Disney XD.
Gunpowder | Season 1
British activist Guy Fawkes and a group of provincial English Catholics plan to blow up the House of Lords and kill King James I in the early 17th century. Starring Kit Harrington. 21st October. BBC One.
The Walking Dead | Season 8
This season, Rick brings ‘All Out War’ to Negan and his forces. The Saviors are larger, better-equipped, and ruthless – but Rick and the unified communities are fighting for the promise of a brighter future.The battle lines are drawn as they launch into a kinetic, action-packed offensive. Up until now, survival has been the focus of Rick and our group, but it’s not enough. They have to fight to take back their freedom so that they can live. So that they can rebuild. 25th October. AMC.
Stranger Things | Season 2
A love letter to the supernatural classics of the 80’s, Stranger Things is the story of a young boy who vanishes into thin air.
