Whimsical Disney Bags by Danielle Nicole

With the release of a new live action Beauty and the Beast movie, and the announcement that even more classics will be getting the same treatment, adults everywhere are understandably falling in love with Disney all over again – myself included.

If you are one of those people, you need to stop what you’re doing and check out these stunning bags. Created by Danielle Nicole, in conjunction with Disney, the collection is inspired by the Princesses we all wished we could be at one point in our lives.

Inspired by the likes of The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and of course Beauty and the Beast, these quirky accessories are full of whimsy. Adorned with glitter and pompoms, and shaped like the characters they represent, they’re perfect for all the modern princesses out there.

My personal favourite is the Flounder crossbody because – cutest fish in the sea – but I’m equally in love with the Cogsworth, and I kind of want that Sleeping Beauty clutch as well – us nap loving ladies need to stick together.

Which bag is your favourite? Have you been loving the live action Disney Films so far? Which one are you most looking forward to seeing?

Gotta Catch Em All

I’ve been in love with Hard Times Clothing ever since stumbling across their online store. Their designs gave off a ‘tattoo’ vibe which, at the time, was quite original. One of their latest collection strays away from that style, and yet, is my favourite to date – why? Pokemon that’s why.

So the line isn’t actually labelled Pokemon, probably for legal reasons or something similar, but when you see it, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Fire Dragon. Grass Lizard. Water Turtle. Yeah, we all know that’s code for Charizard, Venasaur and Blastoise. The designs are basically ‘what would Pokemon look like if they were real’ and the answer is ‘terrifying’.

Each shirt is £24.99 and range from size small to XXL. I’m a little in love with ‘Water Turtle’ more than any of the others because Squirtle was the one, and turtles in general are just awesome. Which one do you prefer?

My Little Pony Nylon

If you’re a fan of My Little Pony, you need to check out Poprageous’ new clothing line. The LA based company have just released a selection of leggings and crop tops dedicated to our favourite miniature horses; Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity and Futtershy.

As you can imagine, the collection contains every shade of pink, purple and peach imaginable, and each pony has their own confetti covered set, so if you have a favourite you can cover your body in them alone. The crop tops are $49 each and the leggings come in at $70. Sizes range from XXS to XL.

My favourites are Rainbow Dash because, well, rainbows, but I also like the green/red combination used for Applejack. Who’s your favourite pony? Which set do you prefer?

Firefly Collection

If the untimely demise of Joss Whedon’s firefly series was something that left a sour taste in your mouth for years and years to come, then you’re probably the kind of person who likes to get a Firefly fix however you can – in which case, check out Living Dead’s new collection. I promise it will keep you ticking over for a few days.

Featuring a selection of leggings, jerseys, and skater dresses, this diverse collection holds some of the greatest Firefly merch I’ve ever seen. Some of my favourite pieces include the Zoe and Mal skaters that look exactly like the outfits they wear on Serenity, and the Reaver and Blue Sun tops. There’s even a replica of one of Inara’s kimono’s, and a skater based on Kaylee’s cupcake dress.

The pieces range from $75 to $95, so not cheap, but I’m yet to see anything like this collection anywhere else. It’s amazing. So what do you guys think? Which item’s your favourite?

The Studio Ghibli Collection

If you’re a fan of Hayao Miyazaki’s animated movies, stop whatever it is you’re doing NOW and drool over this adorable Studio Ghibli collection created by  Wizards of the West. Their clothing line is currently comprised of a colourful selection of t-shirts, sweatshirts, and dress shirts, with the promise that more items will be added in the near future; leggings, swimsuits and hoodies.

The entire collection focuses on Miyazaki’s most iconic characters from films such as My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, and Valley of the Wind.  Sizes range from XXS to XL, and everything available so far is unisex, so don’t worry guys – you can rock that mint green Totoro shirt too. Swimsuits on the other hand – well, I won’t judge you.

Price wise, it’s all surprisingly affordable, ranging between £24 and £25. I’m personally a huge fan of their pullovers, I think they’d be perfect for the upcoming season, however if they were to introduce a dress or two in time for Summer next year, I’d totally be all over that.

So what do you think? Will you be adding a Totoro tshirt to your wardrobe? Or do you just hate everything fun and cute and want to die alone? – too much? Check out their full line here.

The Spider-Gwen Collection

I’m a sucker for superhero fashion. Most people shy away from wearing their heart on their sleeve, but mine’s filled with comic books and I like to have that on display whenever I can. That’s why I’m in love with We Love Fine’s latest collection. It’s based on one of Marvel’s newest additions, Spider-Gwen, and is unbelievably vibrant and stylish, just like the hero herself.

If you don’t know who Spider-Gwen is, she’s Gwen Stacy.. but not as we know her. She comes from an alternate universe, where she was the one who received superpowers from a radioactive spider’s bite, not Peter Parker. She attempts to juggle crime fighting with having a social life. She also has to battle with the trials and tribulations of being a teenage girl.

Gwen has a very fashionable, alternative style in day to day life, but it’s her costume that excites me. The colour combination of Pink, Black, White and turquoise got me hooked as soon as I saw it, and the fact that her whole outfit looked incredibly modern appealed to me even more. We Love Fine have used this exact theme to create a collection of everyday wear, from hoodies to leggings. There’s even a cardigan which is absolutely adorable, and the hooded top is a must have for the summer.

Prices currently range from $37.50 for leggings, to $48 for the cardi. There is also a huge selection of graphic t-shirts available for $25, though these would definitely not be my priority. You can pre-order everything from the collection online now.

Robotic Leggings

Whenever I have a hankering for Star Wars nylon, I look to the one place I can rely on to have some; Black Milk Clothing. Unfortunately, BM’s Star Wars line has finally come to an end to make way for new goodies *uncontrollable sobbing* and as excited as I am to see what stretchy goodness they will have in store for us, I’m a little miffed that I’m going to have to look to pastures new for my Star Wars fix.

Luckily, good old Poprageous has come to the rescue. They don’t ‘officially’ sell Star Wars merch – which comes across as a little cheeky to me, but it’s quite obvious that their ‘Robotic Leggings’ are modelled on a Stormtrooper, and the resemblance of their ‘Gold Robot Leggings’ to C3PO is uncanny. They even have some Bounty Hunter leggings available, and yes, they are a Boba Fett shade of green.

I do think it’s a bit odd that their new line isn’t officially licenced, but that doesn’t make me like them any less – their Post Battle Robotic Leggings are especially glorious, and I would totally rock the black robotic ensemble.

Now for the price tag; all of their leggings are ridiculously expensive at $80 a pop, but good quality nylon generally comes at a price. I’ve never purchased a pair of leggings from Poprageous before, so I can’t vouch for their comfort or quality, but I do own their rather fantabulous Pokemon dress which is a great fit and still going strong after obsessive wearing.

Check out the leggings below. Would you wear a pair? Which one’s are your favourites?

Leggings Are Coming To Teefury

Leggings are one of my favourite pieces of clothing to wear. They look awesome, they’re super comfy – even when you’re having one of those annoying girly ‘nothing fits me’ days, and there are so many different designs available; you could never get bored.

I tend to gravitate towards particular brands when it comes to buying leggings because I like mine brightly coloured, and nerdy. I also like a decent quality – not those horrible thin ones that people can see your pants through. Black Milk Clothing and Poprageous are currently two of my favourite stores to buy leggings from, but I think I will be adding one more shop to that list; Teefury.

Teefury are known for selling one of a kind, geeky tshirts on their site, but have recently branched out into the legging department. They have limited designs available at the moment, but what they do have is extraordinary. Out of the six different available pairs, I would seriously consider purchasing all of them.

The prints available include Pokemon, Harry Potter Spells, Wonder Woman, Sailor Moon, Star Wars, and the most adorable Doctor Who design I’ve ever seen. Each pair is only $35, which is a very reasonable price compared to most other online stores – though as a new brand, I cannot vouch for their quality.

My absolutely favourite pair are the Pokemon leggings ‘In the Tall Grass’ which are covered with grass type Pokemon – though I’m a poke addict so probably a tad biased. I also really like the look of the Sailor Moon leggings which are incredibly vibrant and super girly.

Punky Pins’ Harry Potter Collection

Accessory company Punky Pins have just released a brand new jewellery line based on everyone’s favourite boy wizard, Harry Potter.. and it is glorious! I literally want everything. The collection includes necklaces, earrings, and a rather fabulous charm bracelet which I’ve already put in my online basket.

There are an array of pendants available, from a Deathly Hallows symbol, to a ‘Mischief Managed’ sign; each engraved onto sanded birch plywood. The earrings are attached to silver plated studs, and cost a mere £4.50. The necklaces include a silver plated chain and come in at £6.

I’ve ordered a couple of Punky Pins necklaces in the past, and each chain has been nice and long. They have also kept their silver colour so far – I generally find that silver plated chains rust pretty quickly, but then, I do sometimes wear them in the shower which probably contributes, but shh..

Special mention has to go to the bracelet, which stands out over everything else in the collection. It’s made up of 10 little charms, which in my opinion, define the Harry Potter franchise: a Stag, the Golden Snitch, the Sorting Hat, Platform 9 ¾, a Lightning Bolt, the Deathly Hallows Symbol, Glasses, a Doe, the Dark Mark, and finally ‘Always’.

It’s £10 on their site, but if you live in the UK, and order before 31.03.15, the postage and packaging is free. Plus, you get an adorable Unicorn necklace thrown in for nothing. Wahey!
