Rock Candy Funko Figures

Funko is probably best known for their cute chibi style Pop! Vinyls, but they also have a huge range of other toys and figures available which they seem to add to every year. Their latest collection is a new line called Rock Candy, showcasing the ‘most powerful women around’, and I already adore them.

These new vinyl figures stand at 5 inches tall and come with a removable base. They will launch in June with a collection of heroines from the DC universe; Sugergirl, Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman (Batman v Superman), Batgirl, and Batgirl (Burnside) – my personal favourite.

The figures can currently be pre-ordered from Entertainment Earth for $10.99.

Inside Out Lego

image

There is no denying that I have fallen in love with Pixar’s Inside Out – hard. In fact, I’m getting worryingly close to that obsessive stage, you know, the one where you end up with matching bedsheets and pyjamas.

In the interest of staying closer to my physical age rather than my mental one, I’ll avoid buying a Sadness duvet cover for now, but I’ll be damned if I miss out on Inside Out Lego. Ok, so it’s not an exact reality right now, but it should be.

Created by Okay, the project is up on the Lego Ideas website looking for support. If it reaches 10,000 supporters then it will be looked at by a board of Lego bosses who will then decide whether the set will be made – which it should.

I mean come on, look how cute the emotions are as minifigs – well, except for Fear, his eyes are terrifying!

This particular set would come with the Control Panel from the movie, as well as an idea lightbulb, a core memories container, and the shelving unit along with loads of memory orbs.

They have just over 2600 supports so far, but still have a long way to go, so if you’re a fan, don’t forget to vote.

Fallout 4 Collector’s Edition

Get your bottle caps at the ready because Fallout 4 is coming in November, and Bethesda have just revealed their Collector’s Edition. Want to know what you’ll be getting? ..A real life Pip Boy. FrigatickafWANT!!

The £99.99 Pip-Boy collector’s Edition will include a copy of the game on your chosen platform (Xbox One, PS4, PC) and a wearable Pip-Boy replica with a Robco Industries stand for when you’re not wearing it – though why you would ever take it off is beyond me. You’ll also get a Pip-Boy Pocket guide, a Vault-Tec Poster, and a Capsule Case to hold it all – with working knobs and lights. Yup.

The pre-order picture also implies that you’ll get a Vault 111 T-shirt, though this isn’t mentioned in the description. AND if you pre-order it from GAME and join the Fallout 4 Vault Club, you’ll get your very own Vault Boy Bobblehead. Double Want!

Ok, so you probably want to know a little more about this Pip-Boy, well.. I may have exaggerated a little when I uttered ‘real life’. You’re essentially just getting the casing, but when you slot your smart phone into it, with the downloadable Fallout 4 app loaded, you create a fully functioning Pip-Boy. So you can use it whilst you game. Or whilst you watch TV. Or even whilst you’re on the loo – though you will be judged!

So are you tempted to pre-order the Fallout 4 Collector’s Edition? Well, if you are, you better get your skates on and put a deposit down because there will only be limited copies available. If you’re not tempted, well.. buy me one?

Cute Fandom Bookmarks

For somebody who has shelves and shelves of books, I am severely lacking in the bookmark department. I hate to admit it, but I’m a fold the page corner kind of girl *looks at feet ashamed*

You’ll all be pleased to know however, that there is a possibility that I may soon change my ways, because Craftedvan have the cutest collection of magnetic bookmarks in the universe. Their Etsy store is filled with sets of miniature page tabs from all sorts of nerdy fandoms, every one designed to look as adorable as humanly possible. It’s all very kawaii!

My favourite is undoubtedly the Pokemon set, which includes Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and a Pokeball. I also love the Super Mario and Sailor Moon sets as well. They look like they’d be relatively easy to make yourself, but I’d never get them as perfect as these.

I am Groot-licious

Occasionally I’ll come across something that stuns me in my tracks. Something that makes me stare in awe for 10 minutes non stop. This is that something.

Baby Groot was in Guardians of the Galaxy for all of five minutes, yet absolutely owns the most memorable scene in the movie. His little dance routine at ths end of the flick took everyone by shock because no one was expecting it.. Plus he was just so damn cute that it hurt.

Now a Baby Groot obsession is forming, and Funko have been leading the way with their adorable Chibli stylised Pop! vinyl of the character. Baker Allia M. Ortiz from Layers by Aliki has taken the cutest toy alive, and transformed it into this impressive cake.

They say it’s what’s on the inside that counts, but in this case I disagree. This giant Baby Groot looks more impressive than delicious, and I can’t even comprehend how someone would go about creating it. It is unbelievably accurate, detalied and edible. Check out Allia’s Facebook page for more photos.

Disney Princess Mugs

I’m not the biggest tea drinker and I don’t like coffee at all, so as you can imagine, my mug collection is pretty sparce. The occasional hot chocolate here and there means that I only ever need one faithful mug, and if you just so happen to be a guest in need of a cuppa, well you have the choice of two chipped, generic cups. Go you!

That being said, if the right mugs were to come along and sweep me off my feet.. Maybe I’d invest. And on that note, I find my heart skipping quite the beat over these Disney cups. Princesses Jasmine, Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel, and Ariel, along with the villainous Ursula, have all been transformed into beautiful tankards.

All the mugs are modelled on the dress each girl wears in their respective movie (or in Ariel’s case – fin), then the handle is designed to look like their hairstyles. I believe some evil witch must have come along and turned them all into crockery because their likeness is uncanny. My favourites have to be Jasmine and Ursula, though I really hope they do a few more villains so I can get a collection going.

You can pick them up from Amazon for between $25 and $30 each

A’Tuin Cake

Terry Pratchett has left quite a huge hole in the hearts of everyone who has ever read one of his books. The man had an incredible knack for storytelling and his words will be sorely missed by thousands.

His books have inspired so many people, and were the inspiration of so many things, including movies, songs, and amazing works of art, not just limited to paper and canvas..

Art2Eat Cakes have taken inspiration from one of Pratchett’s most beloved fictional series, Discworld, and have created a cake based on A’Tuin, the giant turtle who floats through space with four huge elephants on his back, balancing the world itself.

The cake sounds delicious; Chocolate Mint sponge filled with cookie crumb, and chocolate buttercream – but it’s the icing covering the outside that intrigues me most of all.

The delicate disked world is covered with gelatine waterfalls, and colourful rainbows made of gum paste. The elephants are adorable, perched atop the turtle’s shell, but it’s A’Tuin who is most impressive. He is insanely detailed, I would be scared to eat him.. He looks so real.

Fifth Element Action Figures

Toy Company Funko recently revealed that they are expanding their ReAction action figure line, adding around 20 licensed movies/TV shows to the collection. The new figures will be based on characters from classic movies such as Jaws, Terminator, Gremlins, and Fight Club; but the franchise I’m looking forward to seeing in toy form the most is The Fifth Element.

Leeloo, Corban Dallas, Diva Plavalaguna, Ruby Rhod, Mangalore, and Zorg are all getting the ReAction treatment. The characters, in their retro action figure form, will stand at 3 ¾ inches tall and each come with their own accessories; guns, elemental stones.. leeloo even gets her very own multipass – a nice touch.

You can buy them all from Amazon

Furbacca

IMG_1864

Ever wondered what would result from a Wookie mating with a Furby? The answer is Furbacca, and he’s a god damn cutie and I want one.

Hasbro released an image of this intriguing Chewbacca/ Furby hybrid at the 2015 Toy Fair, and I’m sure you’ll agree that he’s adorable. Coming in at $79.99, Furbacca can sing Star Wars songs from the movies, and growl like a baby Wookie. He’s incredibly interactive; with the help of an accompanying app, you can get him to sleep, eat, and shower, you can even play online games with friends.

I don’t expect you’ll be able to get your hands on him until later in the year. I just hope they’ve added Yodby to the collection by then – Yoda + Furby = Yodby right? RIGHT?

The Lego Helicarrier

IMG_1811

What do you get when you combine the Marvel universe and the Lego universe? Why, you get a 3,000 piece, legofied replica of the S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier.

The Helicarrier, which is modelled on the aircraft carrier from the Avengers movie, looks to be around 30 inches long, 11 inches high, and will be comprised of around 3,000 bricks – 2,996 to be exact.

It’s not going to be cheap. When it hits shelves in March, you’re looking at a $350 price tag, but for that you’ll get multiple vehicles including Quinjets, Fighter Jets and Forklift trucks, along with minifig versions of Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Captain America, Hawkeye, and Black Widow.

The set also comes with mini-minifigs or ‘microfigs’ of all the characters, as well as 8 S.H.I.E.L.D agents, because these will look more to scale with the set.

If you’re yet to ask for something for Valentines Day.. Push for one of these bad boys!?
