Everyday Cosplay: Ahsoka Tano (The Clone Wars)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars has recently become available on Netflix, and I can’t seem to stop watching it. The six seasons are full of beautiful graphics, in-depth storylines, and interesting characters. One person in particular stands out from the rest. Her name is Ahsoka Tano, and she is one of the most feisty females in the whole of the Star Wars universe.

Jedi apprentice to Anakin Skywalker, the young Padwan appears in nearly every episode, providing courage, wit, and a stubborn attitude. Being of the Togruta race, she has a very distinctive appearance. Her orange, rust coloured skin is covered with white pigmented patterns. She also has three blue and white head tails. These are obviously not features us humans possess, but that doesn’t mean we can’t dress like her. Her outfit stands out just as much as her skin, and is simple yet unique. Made for fast movements in combat, it’s un-restricting and sparse. Here’s my interpretation of her outfit:

Ahsoka’s Everyday Cosplay consists of leggings, a dress, boots, and a scarf, with some added accessories. The dark grey leggings are from Amazon, and the burgundy bodycon dress from online company, Yoox. The colours for both matched her outfit perfectly. I wanted the dress to be short, tight, and sleeveless, but not too dressy – this particular one had all of those things. The brown boots are from Target. They weren’t the greatest replica, but it was difficult to find a pair with that many buckles. I settled on these because they had a couple of buckles, and a suede look about them, similar to Ahsoka’s.

Ahsoka’s head tails are quite unique to her race. To portray those in an Everyday Cosplay is difficult. I was thinking about adding a blue and white hat to her outfit, but it didn’t really go, so settled on a blue and white striped scarf from Fendi, which would give the illusion of head tails, without looking abnormal. I added a red belt from Amazon, to match the one she wears over her dress. I also added some burgundy cuff bracelets from Max and Chloe. Ahsoka wears long gloves, but this isn’t generally something people wear on a day to day basis, so I replaced them with cuffs, along with a Jedi order bracelet.

I didn’t think Ahsoka’s outfit would be complete if there wasn’t something to represent the green Lightsaber so wields so often, so I added a Lightsaber necklace from etsy. It completes the outfit perfectly, and I have to say that this is probably my favourite Everyday Cosplay so far.
